Jiuzhaigou Valley

Overview
The Y-shaped Jiuzhaigou valley, a UN Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, features virgin forests, over 100 lakes, 17 waterfalls, and 92 snowy peaks. It is a botanical paradise, habitat for Giant Pandas, Golden Snub-Nosed Monkeys and White-Lipped Deer, and embraces 9 traditional Tibetan villages.
Helpful Advice
The valley is situated on a mountain plateau 3,000 meters above sea level, and is famous for its fresh air and pleasant weather. Winter is chilly, so best times to visit are April through November. A one to two day visit is suggested.
Tour Route
Tourists can connect by 45-minute flight from Chengdu to nearby Jiuhuang airport, which is a 1.5 hour ride from the valley, which is also served by a 10-hour bus from Chengdu.
